Pierre E. Omeler is a third generation seventh-day Adventist.
Born and raised in Haiti, he was the head of his secondary class
and won a scholarship to attend the prestigious St Patrick
College. He then attended Adventist Seminary (Now Adventist
University of Haiti) in Diquini Haiti.
He was the president of
his graduating class and his motto was: “To defend justice with
love and disinterest.” He then attended Oakwood College in
Huntsville, Alabama where he graduated with a BA in theology and
a minor in biblical languages.
Upon graduation from college Pastor Omeler
went to New York where he worked as a social worker and a
pastor. In 1989 Pastor Omeler left New York and went to Berrien
Springs Michigan where he later graduated with honors. After
graduating with his master’s degree he returned to New York for
a short stay before coming to the Boston area to pastor a church
in Malden MA. He served in that district for eight years before
his installation as the senior pastor of Temple Salem.
Pastor Omeler has now been preaching the
gospel for over 30 years. He started young and still counts it a
privilege and awesome responsibility to be a spokesman for the
Almighty God. In 1984, he married his sweetheart Myra Norman.
They have three children: Jessica, Peter and Petrice. Born to
lead, pastor Omeler has seen the membership of his districts
doubled and tithe contribution doubled and quadrupled in some
cases. He has been instrumental in planting 8 churches in the
past decade. He is very involved with community organizations,
has met several times with his Boston city mayor, his
councilors, state senator, senators and congressman. He was
recently honored by the Boston city council and the
Massachusetts governor for his work in the community.
Pastor Omeler has authored and published
two books and many article. He credits all his success to a life
immersed in prayer, very supportive family members and many
people of goodwill that God has put around him. |
